{"versionId":"33be34db-8877-4f73-95ec-08dc842a2812","articleId":"d2860ce3-a8e0-45d9-fc29-08dad41f7127","title":"Q&A insights","tags":["insights","All articles"],"content":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>A guide to using Helpfruit's Q&amp;A insights to monitor and train your chatbot.</p>\n</div>\n</div>\n<div>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1gjg33h1j24v\">Monitoring conversations and tuning your bot​</h2>\n<p>Go to<a href=\"https://portal.helpfruit.com/insights/qna\"> Insights &gt; Q&amp;A </a>in the Helpfruit portal to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>review questions people have asked your chatbot</li>\n<li>see how your bot has answered</li>\n<li>add new questions or question variants</li>\n</ul>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gjg33h1k250\">Available filters on insights</h3>\n<p>Filter your insights to focus on the things your most interested in:</p>\n<h4>Date filter</h4>\n<p>Filter by date range. The default = last month, but it&rsquo;s fully customisable:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af15406cc956_date%20filter.png\" alt=\"filter insights by date\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<h4>Source filter</h4>\n<p>Filter by source &ndash; eg to exclude any conversations on your test site:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af1bfc6cc95a_filter%20by%20source.png\" alt=\"filter by source on FAQ Bot insights\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<h4>Keyword (free text) filters</h4>\n<p>Search for keywords or phrases and filter on those results:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af47256cc961_keyword%20filter.png\" alt=\"faq bot filter by keyword\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<h4>Filter by tag</h4>\n<p>You can also filter questions by tag.</p>\n<p>You can use insights tags to categorise and set up workflows in insights, and report on actions taken.</p>\n<p>Example: Here&rsquo;s a possible scheme for using tags to manage your Helpfruit workflow:</p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>todo &ndash; when you see a question that you need to action &ndash; to create a queue of work</li>\n<li>added to QnA &ndash; when you have dealt with a question by adding to your Q&amp;A</li>\n<li>web search &ndash; when an unanswered question is handled by web search</li>\n</ul>\n<p>You could also tag questions with a person&rsquo;s name/initials (eg &ldquo;KD to review&rdquo;) to create a review list for them.</p>\n<h4>Filter by confidence score</h4>\n<p>When a user asks your bot a question, the question is assigned a score from 0-100, representing the confidence the bot has in a matching answer.</p>\n<p><strong>Confident answers (85-100)</strong></p>\n<p>Marked in green in Insights, and the bot will answer the question directly</p>\n<p><strong>Uncertain answers (50-85)</strong></p>\n<p>Marked in orange in insights, the bot will answer with a Did you mean?</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af7e7c6cc957_uncertain%20answers.png\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p><strong>Unanswered questions (0-49)</strong></p>\n<p>Marked in red in insights, the bot will not provide a knowledge base answer. It may answer with web search. Defaults are:</p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Confident answers (85-100)</li>\n<li>Uncertain answers (50-85)</li>\n<li>Unanswered questions (0-49)<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gjg33h1k251\">Reviewing uncertain answers and adding new questions/variants</h3>\n<p>Navigate to the Uncertain answers tab for your chosen period and source.</p>\n<p>In this example, the user selected one of the \"Did you mean\" options presented</p>\n<p>From this screen, you can view the entry in Q&amp;A, or directly add the user&rsquo;s question as a variant to that Q&amp;A.</p>\n<p>We are going to add as a variant to entry:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af51c06cc950_add%20variant.png\" alt=\"add new question variant\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>This takes you directly to the Q&amp;A and adds the user&rsquo;s question as a variant. Review the addition, and if you&rsquo;re happy with it, save changes.</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af2c9d6cc95e_add%20variant%202.png\" alt=\"adding variant and saving changes\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>Then you just need to navigate back to insights, and tag the question accordingly.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gjg33h1k252\">Other options for uncertain answers and unanswered questions</h3>\n<p>If none of the &ldquo;did you mean&rdquo; questions is a good match for the user&rsquo;s question, or the user&rsquo;s question is unanswered, you have some other options:</p>\n<h4>If you know there is an existing question that would be a good match you can add the user&rsquo;s question as a variant to that question</h4>\n<p>To do this, click the 3 dots to the left of the user&rsquo;s question, and select:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af25226cc95b_add%20variant%203.png\" alt=\"add question variant to existing knowedge base question\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>You then get the option to search for/select a question to add a variant to &ndash; start typing to see options:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af54b16cc95d_add%20variant%204.png\" alt=\"add new question variant - screenshot\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>Once you select an option, you&rsquo;ll see that question in the Q&amp;A screen, with the user&rsquo;s question added as a variant.</p>\n<p>Again, you just need to check and save changes. Then navigate back to Q&amp;A Insights and tag the question accordingly.</p>\n<h4>If there is no suitable answer, you can add the user&rsquo;s question as a <strong>new</strong> question</h4>\n<p>To do this, click the three dots next to the user&rsquo;s question and select:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af9afa6cc964_create%20new%20question%20in%20KB.png\" alt=\"create new knowledge base entry - screenshot\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>This will open up the knowledge base with a new entry, pre-populated with the user&rsquo;s question:</p>\n<figure>\n<div><img style=\"width: 576px;\" src=\"https://assets.website-files.com/610329b90a72af108e6cc634/610329b90a72af885e6cc962_add%20new%20question.png\" alt=\"add new question to knowledge base screenshot\" loading=\"lazy\"></div>\n</figure>\n<p>You then need to add an answer, follow ups and categories if required, and save.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gjg33h1k253\">Save, train and publish</h3>\n<p>When you have completed a session reviewing and training your bot, make sure to save any unsaved changes, train and publish, to see your changes reflected in the bot.</p>\n<p><em>Note: you can&rsquo;t publish until you have trained your bot.
