Or set specific hours when you are available for live chat.</p>\n<p>​Schedules include options for days of the week and optionally time during each day selected.</p>\n<p>One or more schedules can be added to an engagement, allowing for flexible activation and deactivation. This removes the need to turn engagements on/off at set times (although this is also still possible).</p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gj8i3qls5g\">Create a recurring schedule​</h3>\n<h4><strong>Step 1</strong> - create new schedule</h4>\n</div>\n<div><img src=\"https://storage.faqbot.nz/prod/079d861d72cc4aca80c65588df217079/files/article_pasted_image_schedules_66965872-22d2-4aec-a70f-f0906e206034.png\"></div>\n<div>\n<p><a title=\"Schedules\" href=\"https://portal.helpfruit.com/actions/schedules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schedules can be found in the Actions menu&nbsp;</a>in the portal.</p>\n<h4><strong>Step 2</strong> - give the schedule a name and specify the day(s) and, optionally, hours the schedule will apply</h4>\n<p><img src=\"https://portal.helpfruit.com/api/images/079d861d72cc4aca80c65588df217079/files/create%20schedule.png?width=1000&amp;height=\"></p>\n<figure></figure>\n<h4><strong>Step 3</strong> - apply schedule(s) to engagement(s)</h4>\n<p>Find the relevant engagement in your engagements list (or create a new engagement), and add the schedule you created to your engagement. <a href=\"https://help.helpfruit.com/article/engagements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Learn more about engagements</a>.</p>\n<img src=\"https://portal.helpfruit.com/api/images/079d861d72cc4aca80c65588df217079/files/apply%20schedule%20to%20engagements.png?width=1000&amp;height=\"><br>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1gj8i3qls5h\">Recurring schedule scenarios​​</h3>\n<h4 id=\"mcetoc_1gj8i58ep5r\">I want to offer live chat only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays</h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a Mon/Wed/Fri live chat schedule, and apply that to your live chat engagement.</li>\n</ul>\n<h4 id=\"mcetoc_1gj8i58ep5s\">I want to promote an offer regularly on a Monday&nbsp;</h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a Monday schedule, and apply it to an engagement featuring that offer - maybe a welcome (conversation start) engagement?</li>\n<li>Then, if it's a Monday, your customers will see that specific welcome when they open your bot.</li>\n</ul>\n</div>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1imo6n1mb1p9\">Fixed date schedules</h2>\n<p>Use fixed date schedules to set up an engagement ahead of time, or to end at a specific time - e.g. a holiday or fixed-time promotional message.&nbsp;</p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1imo6n1mb1pa\">Create a fixed date schedule</h3>\n<p>Unlike recurring schedules, which can be applied to multiple engagements, a fixed date schedule is specified on the engagement itself. Each engagement can only have one start and/or end date specified.</p>\n<p>To create a fixed date schedule:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create or edit an engagement</li>\n<li>Set the start/end date/time to specify when the engagement will be active</li>\n</ol>\n<p><img src=\"https://portal.helpfruit.com/api/images/079d861d72cc4aca80c65588df217079/files/Fixed%20date%20schedule.png?width=1000&amp;height=\"></p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1imo7ld0r1v7\">Fixed date schedule scenarios</h3>\n<p>I want to set up a message that appears on my chatbot during the holiday period</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a welcome engagement with a holiday message</li>\n<li>Add the relevant start and end dates</li>\n</ul>\n<p>From next week, we have a new process for handling questions the chatbot can't answer</p>\n<ul>\n<li>set up a new no answer engagement with the desired handling</li>\n<li>add the relevant start date to that engagement</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<h2 id=\"mcetoc_1imo7ld0r1v8\">Combining schedules</h2>\n<p>You can combine recurring and fixed date schedules.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>For example, for the month of June, you have limited staff availability and only plan to offer live chat in the mornings.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a new \"morning\" recurring schedule</li>\n<li>Create a new June live chat engagement</li>\n<li>Apply the \"morning\" schedule to that engagement</li>\n<li>Apply start and end dates - i.e. 1 June to 30 June</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<div><br>\n<p>‍</p>\n</div></body></html>","description":"Use schedules to set times for your engagements - including live chat availability, holidays, and promotional messaging","isMarkdown":false,"publishedOnUtc":"2026-03-21T05:08:03.0592974","modifiedOnUtc":"2022-12-02T04:41:13.355148"}
